Categories are a second way to group docs, separate from the sidebar tree. Where the sidebar is about structure, categories are about topic.
What categories do
- They power the cards on your Documentation home page.
- They give readers a topic-based way to browse, on top of the sidebar.
Create a category
- Go to PC Designs, then Divi Docs Maker, then Categories.
- Add a name, plus an optional icon and description.
Assign a category
Open a doc in the editor and check one or more categories in the form. A doc can belong to several categories at once.
Tip
A doc does not need a category to work. Categories are for the home page and browsing; the sidebar runs on parents and sections.
